You people pay too much for cable if you are saving $100/mo

I was paying $80+tax for FIOS before ($100 after tax). 75/75 internet, phone and a basic cable package. $5 cable card on a tivo roamio. You people need to learn to live without all the sports channels and movies.

We went to internet only and its $55/mo for FIOS 150/150. When your contract runs out, you sign up for new service under the spouses name for the new customer discount. After another 2 years you sign back up under your name.

How much internet do yall use at home every month?

I was recently shopping around and there is a data limit (600gb) on the internet only packages with ATT. If you bundle with a basic tv package for a little more $ they come with unlimited internet.

160 is the most I ever used without streaming torrents. That's working from home using a VOIP phone, streaming music and around 10 hours of TV during the week.

Starting May 23, we are increasing the U–verse Internet data allowance for many customers. After a grace period, and as our agreement provides, there's a $10 charge for each 50GB of data you use over the allowance. Want unlimited data? You can:

                • Bundle your U-verse Internet service with DIRECTV or U-verse TV. This gives you an
unlimited Internet data allowance ($30 value) for no additional charge.

                • Purchase an unlimited allowance for your Internet service for $30. This option doesn’t
                require a TV bundle.

After May 23, log in to your account at att.com/myatt. There, you’ll find helpful tools you can use to check your Internet data usage. Questions? Go to att.com/internet-usage.

I am at 96gig of 600gig with 17 days to go.

                  150/150 is not $55/mo. I'm on a promo deal and it's $79/mo + tax.

Saving $60/mo compared to when the "bundle discount" was in effect.

Saving $145/mo compared to the one month the "bundle discount" expired and I had to pay full price for that shit.

Never again. Fuck cable providers and all the bullshit hoops they make you jump through to get a "discount" just so they can snipe your ass with high bills a couple of times.

We were up to $295 a month with Internet, phone, and Uverse.

Cancelled uverse and did get a discount on the internet and phone plus they gave me another 10 gig on our cell phone service. I assume they gave us another 10 gig of data so they don't lose the cell service as well. After all of that, its $95 now for phone and internet.

                      $200 a month savings.

Currently I pay $8 to Netflix and $15 to Tivo. $23 total

That's $178 savings to me a month, for now. I don't know what is going to happen when those discounts end but it won't eat up $178.

                        • so on "amazon prime day" i bought there antenna and amazon fire tv combo deal.. Love the fire tv and the antenna works surprisingly good for my local channels.

I am doing a 7 day trial of Sling TV, but I think I am leaning toward playstation VUE. The Discovery channel package they have over sling i think makes me lean that way.

                          Anyone currently actually using VUE?

I am thinking about their mid tier package

Is every show on demand? Can you just setup the cloud dvr to record all the shows you like and use it like a regular DVR so you do not have to catch it live?
Like if i wanted to watch agents of shield right now tonight, just flip to on demand and pull up whatever episode wanted?

Also cord cutters, how do you get the CW and A&E channels on any streaming service? Like if i wanted to go watch a specific episode of the flash right now from the CW how do i do that?

                          Is playstation vue in 1080P?

                          • We just got VUE a little while ago, and so far it's OK, but better than Sling. I hate both only broadcast in 2 channel sound tho, not 5.1
VUE has some on demand stuff, but not a lot. CW may have some Flash, not sure (on Vue), I'll have to check and post back later.

                            • Well shit, CW and A&E are not on Vue, lol.

                              • started the VUE demo trial lat night. WAY better than sling TV for channel options.

what vue package do you have? Curious about the mid package and the locals and sports that are added?

Cord cutters anyone checked their data usage to see where they are for typical home tv watching?

I believe xfinity just put a 1TB cap on home usage ??
