I saw that, and looked it up as well. I appreciate the link. I didn't notice it hosts the Hulu, Netflix, etc. apps.

Same. I did the free trial to get some event on ESPN. Can't recall what it was. Then cancelled.

I just realized I may be able to get local channels through the Time Warner internet I subscribe to. At least it used to be that way. Is that still the case these days?

Just ordered a Bolt. It's perfect for how I would use it. The Roamio is sold out and is gone.

            i woudl definately consider this

so we already have netflix and amazon prime
            hulu plus is 12$
            sling tv is 20$

my only drawback would be the football games on sunday and some other random live sports

how soon after a new episode airs does it appear on hulu?

ANyone do playstation Vue?? 45 a month and has tons it look slike

It's possible but there is likely a shunt on your line. Even if not most of their networks require a STB to decode the signal.

You can use a local antenna for basic channels. Your TV has a tuner built in.

The Tivo is supposed to decode it. If it doesn't work I'll just end up with an outdoor antenna. I like at this one.

                  Worth a shot anyway.

It took me a few years of debating to let it go but man I wish I didn't. I don't miss cable at all. Wife wasn't too crazy about it but now that she's learned to use the kodi and mirror casting from the laptop and phone she's happy now. I need to cancel Netflix as I use it less and less now.

I cut the cable a couple of years ago and I don't miss it all that much. I have a roku box and amazon prime for movies and some old TV shows, and I can watch a lot of current TV shows over the internet on my laptop.

The price of cable just kept inching up and up every month and when my bill hit $140/month it was just too much.

I'm using Playstation Vue, and it has everything we need. all ESPN channels, all Fox sports channels, and most of the basic cable stuff the wife wants for 40ish a month. It also has all local channels except ABC (on demand only).

Works on our Amazon Fires around the house no issues really.

I had sling and it sucks compared to Vue. Sling took too long to render, and the quality is hit or miss

Get an amazon fire stick and you can load kodi on to it. From there you can load a few programs, one being Exodus which allows you to stream virtually any movie and TV show FO FREE.
