Who all got sling tv? I've had nothing but problems with it.
I have not used it for a couple weeks, not much on the available channels I'd like to watch. I'll try it out later. I use it on a ROKU stick and a ROKU 3 player.
Finally, Showtime now has an app so you cna sign up to watch it on Roku, Apple, and some devices, (not android yet). 30 day free trial, then $10.99 per month. I may sign up later on, I like Showtime better than HBO, which is $14.99 I think
back to the top. I commented in the other thread, but didn't want to cloud that one up.
I'm really wanting to do this now, I hate spending so damn much for DirecTV to watch 6-8 different channels.
I am good with Netflix, Hulu, Kodi, and Amazon Video. I'm looking for an inexpensive way to record and pause live local channels (NBC, FOX, CBS, etc.). Someone recently pointed me to the new Tivo box, and it's not bad at all but has a another monthly fee, albeit small. Any other suggestions? I've looked at a few and they all seem to have their advantages and drawbacks.
Sling seems to be working OK on my ROKU 3 player, Took a second to load, but ESPN, TNT, AMC and HGTV all came in OK
Does this service require a subscription through a cable company? I've tried some of the stand alone apps, but it requires me calling friends, to find someone willing to give me their access code to use the apps.

Sling does not. You pay Sling, and they make the channels they offer available.

But, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.

This, but I felt Sling was lacking any content really. The channels it gives you access to are not channels I really watch, other than ESPN and AMC. It just wasn't worth keeping for us.
