Again, I have only stayed at the one in Houston (maybe a total of 10 nights in the last 2 years), so hopefully your experience is better. There is a Courtyard right there too, which is WAY more comfortable.

They also don't have a couch or chair (other than the "desk" chair). There is a bench, but it's under the TV. The techno pumping in the lobby / bar area gets a little old as well.

I will say that the showers are pretty kick ass.. Ton of water pressure and they will get hot as fuck.

Both. I could have booked a smaller room at this same place for $180/night with free valet. That particular rate didn't include taxes, but still. Some of the places with less stars or lower average reviews were even cheaper. But again, no helipad.

Well, it is until I get reimbursed.

My current place is very tight with corporate cards (meaning I don't get one at my level) and they only allow you to submit one expense report a month. So at any given time they typically owe me at least a few hundred..

I mean, technically I could ask my boss to put my hotels on his corporate card, but then you have to get a third party release and jump through a few extra hoops, which is a PITA.

Ha! We only do them once a month as well, but I'm typically owed a few thousand. Suck it up, buttercup!

We stayed at the Westin in Westminster for about $120.00 a night last June. The whole week was about $600.00. Plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping across the street. Beautiful views of the mountains and the location wasn't too bad out of the way. We still went to downtown, Boulder, Golden, Red Rocks, Mt. Evans, Nederland and Blackhawk for some gambling at the Casinos.

Edit; I just looked and it shows $130.00 a night. You can't get in there during the ski season for under $350.00 a night, but during the off season it's very affordable.

Stay on West Colfax for a cheaper hotel, and lots of entertainment walking around outside (hookers. blow, you name it).

Tell them you're leaving because their hotel sucks and head to the Westin, you will not regret it...

They made it right enough to stay here. Just not what I was expecting and definitely not what I paid for originally.

It's snowing, by the way. Sweet!

                              So what was the problem?

I was promised a mountain view. The lady said the hotel was on top of a hill overlooking town, I'm getting a high floor, etc. Said we'd be able to see over the city and to the mountains on the other side. The place is not on a hill, and only has 15 floors. It's surrounded by HUGE buildings, so there is no mountain view. Just buildings that dwarf this one. I'm sure some of them have mountain views.

The big kicker was the heated rooftop pool. We were looking forward to that, even shopping for swim trunks when we landed. Got there - pool is under construction. Closed.

The lady on the phone bragged about a rainfall shower. Maybe this is one is my mistake for assuming that it meant the big round shower head above that rains down water. Nope. It's a standard cheap tub with a standard shower head that comes up to my chest, just like anywhere else.

The room itself stinks, has stains all over the loose, wrinkly carpet, has a ghetto looking balcony, the whole room just has has a tackiness to it, like it was finished out by very cheap labor... 40 years ago.

I wouldn't care much about any of that shit if it was only a $200 room. So I called and bitched about it, and they turned it into a $150 room. Good enough.

Would never stay again, though. It's just kind of a dump.
