  • Used Commercial/Fleet Trucks

I am trying to find one of the Econoline (E350) Powerstroke vans.

Does anyone deal in used commercial stuff or know someone who does?

    Govdeals might have one.

Just check all the rental companies that offer them. They usually get sold as soon as they're depreciated (expensed from an accounting standpoint).

Power stroke in a van must be fun to work on.

Alex said theirs end up going straight to auction. I guess I need to look into finding out where one of those is happening.

Cant be much worse than in the trucks. I would likely just be doing a 4x4 conversion and letting the owner deal with the motor and trans.

One question I do have is if its worth accepting the shortcomings of the 4r100 to get the 7.3. The person I am doing this for is willing to deal with the 6.0 issues for the 5r110.

I dont know enough about these to argue.

I have a friend with a 7.3 van. Not sure if he is interested in selling, but it does have some rust issues as it was a northern truck.

What about government liquidation? Had a buddy snag one from there about a year ago. He's doing the 4x4 conversion also.

I will look into the auctions. Are there any other online listings similar to the govdeals YALE mentioned?

Edit: I missed you post matt. I need to avoid any rust as it's going to a climate that would make any that's already there much worse.

                    dude, NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want to build a boss offroad excursion vehicle, get an F-series ambulance and convert it to 4wd.

FUUUUUUCK working on an econoline diesel. Fuck driving them for that matter.

And this is coming from a HUGE van lover and a HUGE Powerstroke geek

I had suggested the same thing but with a camper in the bed before even knowing how bad these things are to work on.

The guy is just in love with the vans for some reason.

They're dope, but I'd line up the mechanic before I committed to the truck! Lol
