He's talking out of his ass, pay no mind. Fuel economy isn't the same either. My 04 got 11 mpg if I was lucky, but it was more around 9mpg. It was a 3/4 ton though.

I didn't have the oil issue either, but it's possible that I sold it before the oil consumption issue presented itself. I think I sold it with around 40,000 miles.

I knew fuel economy wasn't even close. I thought they only put the 6.0 in the 3/4 ton chassis in 04... not in a half ton.

I have no idea if the 6.0 was a 1/2 ton option in 04. Mine was an 04, but as stated it was 3/4 ton.

The 6.0 only came in the 2500 chassis.

A few years ago I picked up my 06 2500 extended cab short bed 4x4 for $5800 out the door including tax tile license. My wife has claimed it as her vehicle, and now that I want one I can't find one for less than 10 grand. Our truck only had 137k when we bought it, she hates when I sneak out and go off roading in it which is why I wanted another. It's never gotten stuck but then again im not exactly going anywhere sticky and it has new tires

Our 6.0 gets 11-12 mpg city and 14 highway, I believe the silverado 1500's 4wd get 14-15 around town

The 4.8 is no slouch, I would take it hands down over a ford 4.6

I've thought about selling out 2500 many times but the wife was right to claim it. It's been a great truck and it's at 157k miles
