That's literally 5 minutes from my place in Temple. Glad I'm in Waco and headed to DFW today!

A little faster and he could have made his way through all that debris.

That area is already a cluster fuck. I can't imagine the back up if both sides are shut down. Realistically it probably flows about 100 cars a minute

Man, we drive to Temple pretty regularly and I have given up on 35 north. I started taking the back way home. Out into the COUNTRY.

Now you don't really have a choice.

Yeah I was in Temple last week and 35 is a nightmare. I took a different route back to Waco. That is some of the worst construction/traffic management I have ever seen.

My default way back from San Antonio has been 281 for the past several years.

                      That won't buff out.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

A man in a pickup died when the beams fell on his truck as he was going under the bridge.

I drive through Fort Worth multiple times a day and see waaayyyyyyy too many accidents and many more near misses. There was a fatality accident on 35 at Golden triangle 2 mornings ago. The pot holes north and south bound are bad enough to see people have the steering wheel pulled from their hands at times. I spent the last 3.5 years working in north central Oklahoma and prayed for the day that I could work close to home. Spending 3 hours to drive 60 miles is ridiculous!!!!! I love north Texas but they better chop chop with these highways.

From Temple, 281 is on the wrong side of 35 and wayyyy out of the way for us. you have to take multiple back roads to get to dallas or east of dallas from Temple.

Yep, 281 was consistently better from San Antonio to Fort Worth but too far West for Temple.

I've taken 317 - 174 - 377 before when traffic was completely jacked in West and honestly I spend about as much time on the access road as I do the freeway between Waco and Hillsboro on 35. I've also taken 6 before from Waco to 174 - 377.

The really bad thing is that when there is a wreck on 35 anywhere between Waco and Temple the local emergency workers respond. Which in the case of Eddy means a guy in a water department truck blocking traffic, one cop and a fire truck. If it's more than two cars the freeway might as well be closed. In Waco they have plenty of first responders, Temple shares with Belton and Killeen. All the other cities in between fend for themselves.

Factor in hundreds of guys heading to Mexico with minivans dragging two other wrecked cars and you have tons of crap on the road with wrecks.
