Any area CERT members on here?

I just completed training in Feb for Rowlett and joined Rockwall and soon to be EastTx. Just curious if any one else is a member of CERT or a similar org?

Went on a mock disaster drill last week in Hunt County. It was to mimic a commercial airliner crash with 100 victims. It was a really neat experience.

I don't think there are all that many in the area. We'll be using Rockwall's CERT team again sometime in Sept or so when we do our next big fire origin and cause class at their burn house.

Cool, I hope to be available for it. I know there is Rowlett, Sachse, Fate, Rockwall and EastTx. From what I am learning, though the all take the initial G317 FEMA course, each of them seem to vary in their experience. For instance, Rockwall mainly focuses on fire related, where as EastTx does all kinds of SAR and stuff more to do with rural areas since they cover such a wide range.
