Looking for reviews on the armada. I am looking at an 06 to upgrade the jeep. We are going to be towing about 4500 and I dont trust the Cherokee due to its size. I am also looking at tahoe/yukon, expedition, commander, sequioas, etc but this armada is by far the best deal with miles. I assume it's very similar to the titan which I have read good things about.

My budget is under 15k due to wanting to keep buying foxes or this c5

Check mpg's you'd be almost as well off in the end with a dirt cheap v 10 excursion. Just in my research.

My father-in-law has an 03 Tahoe with a 4.8 that struggles a little with his boat. I've had more weight behind my 07 with a 5.3 and it handled it fine. I only towed once since I have only had it a couple months. I didn't check the mileage while doing it, though.

          armada sucks dick on mpg.

hell you could get a diesel excursion for under 15k

For your budget, Id get a 07 up tahoe yukon

Not interested in an excursion or burban.

GM would be 5.3 for sure, didn't consider the 4.8

Deff no diesels... not worth the fuel and maintenance as I won't be towing that much to make it worth it.

How bad is armada on mpg. My folks have a creampuff 07 yukon with 50k miles. It's loaded to the max on options and it gets 15real world with that silly DOD.

15k is about impossible to find an 07 up unless it has 150+k miles... it's what I want but can't find them here.

I was in exactly your price range a couple months ago when I was shopping for a truck. I used to own a car lot and sold over 300 trucks a year. After seeing everything with high miles day in and day out, and how they held up, I picked GM. very reliable, and cheap to fix

man armadas are nice, but they suck on fuel. 12-13mpg

you can get 10-11 navigator for your range too, but same on fuel, 12-13

Thanks... I just feel crazy spending 15k on any vehicle with 150k+ miles... just seems stupid lol.

13 mpg is only about 2-3mpg diff than the 5.3. If I can save 5k on price the fuel won't kill me. This 2006 has 83k for $11.5k no leather. Equivalent GMs are nearly $20k with leather as almost all of them have leather

My brother had an 05, and it was constantly in the shop. Electrical gremlins, cooling issues, head gaskets, and pretty much everything you can think of. He hated it.

I kept reading about electrical issues on the armadas when I was looking into them. I would probably go with a Toyota Sequoia or Ford Expedition. Kind of like the explorer and highlander but would need to sit in them again to check the size. I don't really want to buy a gm again because of the whole bailout fiasco. I have been trying to avoid all the bailout companies, but there were so many it has been damned near impossible. Plus all the GM trucks and suvs I have driven always seemed like the steering wheel was not centered on the drivers seat and it annoys the hell out of me.
I don't like Republicans, but I really FUCKING hate Democrats.

I think those issues were fixed by the 06 model. We had an 06 and it really didn't have any issues other than squeaks and rattles. We really liked it but as already mentioned, MPG was shit. I think we were at 11 or so city, maybe 14-15 all highway.

Even with that low of miles, I can't see spending almost $12k for an 06. Then again, I haven't priced them at all.

'11-'12 Dodge Durango? Just slightly over a your budget but it can tow 6200 lbs, is much newer and gets way better on gas than an Armada.
