Shout that shit from the rooftops. Put it up on yelp and send a link to it to their property manager. Put it on every website you can how shitty these fucks are. Send them a letter about it and let them respond to it in writing on their letterhead, then scan the letter in to a website so you can link it in your review. Those sorry mother fuckers will change their tune with a quickness.

I'd make it my mission in life to fuck them.

Appeal to the property management group that owns the property, not the apartment manager. They might have mercy.

Call or direct contact, not email.

Sadly, legally, you are bound to it and signing it is you understanding the terms.

Thanks for the advice, and I understand that I signed it.

I'm sure we all (some) just scribble on the dotted line when getting something like this like I did. I obviously didn't see death being an option, but neither did I see this being the result. I was trying to hurry and go through her stuff and keep what I could and donate the rest so I didn't have another months rent to pay. Looks like I have all of them to pay.

Wait a second, did they ask you to sign something while you were there going through her stuff after she died?

Pouring cod liver oil into all of the electrical out lets and switches makes the place just as uninhabitable without the risk of prison time.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

Well that sucks, my daughter had her car stolen by force by a crack head, the only thing those useless bastards did was move her to another complex a few miles away. Better part of Arlington but not by much.

I've had to get out of a lease before, in both of those cases I moved out and told them they had to offer it up as an available apartment and I paid rent until it was rented . Couple months and they had them rented out .

Or , decorate the windows in large letters with a message of your choice for everyone to see from the outside.

Sorry about the passing of your mother
