  • Would you trust craigslist cleaners?

Looking around at house cleaning services, I found that their prices are steeper that I imagined they would be. A friend of the wife's was hit with a $512 bill last week, because it "took longer than they first anticipated". The woman is a doctor with 2 kids, so I have my doubts that the house was the city dump inside. I was thinking of a craigslist ad, but man. Something about people I don't know cleaning my house. Of course I'd be there, but if I'm going to look over their shoulder the entire time I'd just as well do it myself. Yes I'm lazy and would rather just pay someone else to deep clean my house.

Anyway, would you do it? You have a good and a bad element to craigslist. If my roll of the dice comes up favorably, I could find an inexpensive house cleaner who does a good job and can be used all the time. If not, I can expect to be stolen from. Its a lot more risky than having someone put up a fence for you or even having work done to the inside of the house, cause if they wandered out of that area they'd have to answer for why they were somewhere else. Thoughts? Opinions?

Oh, and que gaggle of hater trolls and this thread being made into a sticky.

Making fun of your pathological lying doesn't make someone a "hater troll".

I'd try and find a local city forum and ask for a referral.. I meet a lot of weirdos on Craigslist
      "PSH!!!"

        Naturally, I don't trust anyone I don't know. I'd choose a better forum, but that's just me.

Hire an illegal. More trustworthy than white people and will clean the shit out of your house for <$100

Hire a nude cleaner, then you're expected to watch.

No fucking way I'd ever look to CL for a house cleaner. I would only go off the recommendation of a friend, and still be worried as shit.

                  Ask who your neighbors use.

First one's always expensive, and iirc the house is 5300 sq ft. I wouldn't know, I never saw the bill personally. Going off what I was told.

I'd say as a guy who was recently struggling with debt and may be going to school in the near future, you probably should forego a maid.

You're probably right, but that's why I was looking for it on the cheap

I used to pay $60 to a, you guessed it, illegal immigrant who would spend 6 hours cleaning the house. Unfortunately she moved back to mexico.

Brad you wanna come clean my house? You're unemployed, right? I hear you're a trustworthy fella.
