  • Anyone work in the oil field/ suppliers. Looking for a ball.

Need a 10MM Ball Stud with 1/4-20 threads locally but noone i've called even knows what i'm talking about. Its made by a API and they only make it for oilfield service. Amazon api said it would be about 2-3 weeks to get so looking for one locally.
    Pic for reference

Did you call API to get a dealer list from them? They would be able to tell you who their customers are in the area so that you can buy it.

This says a 6 pack is in stock... [ame]http://www.amazon.com/10MM-Ball-threads-Spring-Strut/dp/B00470ZMA2[/ame]

Any reason they have to be 10mm? If you can use a couple of different ends, Smiley's should have some, or I've got one that's got a non-removable end here, it's a Dorman part number 115-009 with 1/4-20 male and female threads.

Its going on a shock of a import. Nissan wants 120 bucks for the shock and wont sell the ball without the shock. Fits in a tight hole.

I have a couple in stock that are 5/16-18 thread with a 10mm ball. Maybe you could cut the threads down?

              Just typing out loud here...

Seems like you could go to Speedtek and get one over the counter. Might be a challenge to get the 10mm part, but a lot of carbs use 1/4-20 ball studs so there may be one.

Maybe run to Pick-A-Part and look at hatchback liftgate shocks. Those are more likely to be 10mm on the ball end, but not likely to mix metric and SAE.

Wait...oil field won't pay 120 per part? Even if they have to buy a shock too?
