Even if you are not a Nascar fan, there is a documentary on Spike TV that is replaying Wednesday. I'm not a big Nascar fan, but he was a true man and bad ass behind the wheel. The show is called I am Dale Earnhardt.

I watched a documentary once that portrayed him as a really sorry SOB when it came to his family in the early years....abusive in that first marriage, and when the kids were in their formative younger years.

It was a pretty good show, it did mention that he wasn't really involved in his kids lives. I've never been into NASCAR, but it looked pretty entertaining back in the 80s.

I had forgotten how much of a dirty driver he really was. Some of it was amusing (passing in the grass or on the dirt on the road courses), but some of it was just plain dirty. I was never really a fan of his, but even looking back at how dirty the antics were, it was a LOT more fun watching back then than it is now.
