Kimball bend and Plowman have ramps near the mouth of the river. Both are good ramps when the water is there. Which it damn sure is now.

When we used to do it often before the fuel stop was closed: we would ride from our cove to get fuel, and then ride until it go too shallow to go any further. Once you get past the ski camps it can get really quiet and absolute glass smooth on a non-holiday weekend. Some of my favorite memories growing up with our house down there are making river trips. Back in the heyday we used to have 10-15 PWCs and a chase deck boat with coolers, a marg machine, spare fuel, and food.

Just typing this settled it for me... I'm gonna plan a trip with some buddies now.
A few friends of mine as well as I would love to go, if you have room.

Last I heard, they'll open the flood gates at 635. I saw this on KXII's website earlier today.

"Bliss says The Island Bar and Grill at Highport will flood at 629 feet, and with The Army Corps of Engineers predicting the lake will hit 630 feet by Friday, Highport is taking action"

Corinth cops had to close Shady Shores road by Lake Lewisville. It is covered in a couple feet of water. I wonder how many residents along that area are taking on water.

Na, they'll be the same. Getting into boating w/fishing off them is the best thing I've done recreational wise. Yeah, they cost money and are not an investment really - but fun.

Yes they will correct back up a little. They had gone down at the end of last year because there was "no end in sight"

You want to look into Xeriscaping. If you do it right, you have it with native Texas grasses and plants, let it go feral and give any HOA the bird as it complies with Texas laws on ecosystems that can't be disturbed.

At the rate it's rising they expect 635-640 (over the spill way) if we get the rain forecasted this week. Local marinas are moving everything to higher ground. I was looking forward to lake season when I winterized my boat back the end of October, I was about to pull it out and get it ready for the season. I'm hoping it's to a useable level by mid July now.

                        ...
Ya...there's a local restaurant that floods at 629'. They've already moved their furniture out.

                            • I have to laugh at the folks that complained lakes were too low, prayed for rain, and are now complaining they are too high. I don't see a lot of it here, but in my daily dealings with people. I want MOAR RAIN!!!
