  • Looking for cedar slabs.

Anyone know where to source like 2" thick cedar that is 12"+ wide?

There is a Cedar supply place in carrollton at 35/beltline. I think its called cedar source or something. never been in it i've just seen it, and i've seen people leaving with some big pieces

You can try calling LeeRoy Jordan's in Dallas.

If they don't have it then maybe try Wood World in Richardson

Domestic Hardwood, Exotic Hardwood, Marine & Cabinet Grade Plywood, Veneers, Pen Kits, Knife Kits, Knife Blanks, Knives, Woodworking, Buffing Tools, Lumber, Saw

LeeRoy Jordan may have it as rough cut lumber but the only way Wood World is going to have it is as a piece of wood intended to be used as a fireplace mantle. That means it would be polished already and $$. But if neither one of them have it they may be able to point you in the right direction.

12" would work but I was looking for more around 18" and a true 2" thick

The rougher the better, hell as long as it is flat I would even take some bark on the edges. These are for sign making fyi, I am sourcing material for a new machine I am building.
