  • Way to get a credit check

Is there a way to get a credit check without being signed up for 15,000 gimmicks? I don't even care if I have to pay, as long as it was a one time fee and thats it. I've been paying off debt for over a year now, and I'd like to see what my credit score is from doing that and from using a credit card and paying off the full amount every month.

Post up your SSN, DOB, and full name here and I'm sure someone will help you.

And do they scan the other ones as well? Can't remember if they're the one that's always showing the highest score. Every time I apply for anything they always tell me that they go off of the lowest. At the risk of sounding like I'm bitching, I really hate credit and credit companies. Once the dickbags actually lowered my credit line without even telling me, and this hurt my credit and almost prevented me from buying a house. When I asked they said the only reason they did it was because I hadn't used the credit line in 5 months, and that the balance was sitting at zero. So they didn't think I needed that much credit. This hurt my credit score.

        Sorry. Rant over

If that's not a great idea, then I've never heard one.

Credit Karama isn't bad if you want free and a general idea of what your credit score is. You can also sign up for a Discover Card and get your FICO score every month on your statement.

yup, I use credit karma as well. Gets you Transunion and Equifax both. May not be 100% up to date, but it's usually pretty damn close to the FICO I get through my Barclay credit card (just like Discover)

Billy (buzzo) used to own one. I think...

Anyway that's something else I was curious about. Places like that seem to be able to check it really quick with no gimmicks. Perhaps that service could be used.

I went to my bank branch a few years ago, and unbeknownst to me, they signed me up for a recurring $12 per month. They said it was just going to be a one time deal, and I had hell cancelling it. This was Bank of America, if that tells you anything.

I'll give the one suggested in this thread a try.

When it comes to being up to date, IIRC they all run 3 months behind. The credit Bureaus. Can't remember the reason.

weird my creditkarma was off by about 4 points when I bought my last car. That's what I thought as well but accounts are up to date balance wise credit karma ftw.

I use myfico.com. It's like $15/month,but no other gimmicks. I like it. It only takes about a month, maybe less, for changes to be reflected.

Seriously? The guy has been cleaning up his credit and paying stuff off... wants to get a one time credit check and your recommendation is for him to sign up for another credit card in order to get a damn free credit report?

What's with all the recommendations for him to sign up for those revolving monthly credit monitoring services? Sounds to me like he wants a one time deal. Hit up myfico, pay the deal for the two major reports and call it a day.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.
