That's the easiest option. I went through my insurance agent. Piece of cake.

I've got an 88 Mitsubishi Minicab, that was imported without a title for off road use. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a bonded title and then toss antique tags on it to cruise it on the streets.

I don't have any fresh answers, and I don't know if this still works, but 10 years or so ago people rescuing long-dead hot rod bodies would get a title from Alabama because their title process was much more flexible, then transfer the title to their home state. Not sure if that's still easy these days though.

They pretty much closed the loop hole on that one. Last time I looked into it the price skyrocketed and they require an inspection in Alabama to do it.

As stated, the bonded title is the easiest route. Your insurance agent should be able to sell the bond.

If you have time for a little extra leg work, go the title hearing route. It's cheaper and you get a normal title. This is the route I take.

Lost title surety bond services & notary public. The process is very easy to complete, I have done tons over the years. Give me a call if you need a quote or have questions, if you get a free auto/home/other quote along with the bond you'll get a discount on the bond service! We also have several different bond services

I've done several bonds for board members here as well as for some from the ol canadian board that i havent seen around here anymore.

Hit me up if you have any questions, I'll help you out with any questions even if you don't do the bond with me. (Prefer you do of course )

I've been cruising with antique tags for years and have yet to get pulled over, I'll take my chances if I can just get a plate for it. Once the weather gets warm I drive an 83 jeep with antique tags almost every weekend.

It's similar to a Bonded title process except for a few things. The biggest being that you do not have to get a bond.

Basically, you fill out the forms like you would a bonded title and then you will need to send a certified letter to the last registered owner. If they do not reply or the letter is returned non-deliverable, you take that unopend letter and the paperwork to TXDOT and sit down with a specific person there, explain where you got it, how much you paid, etc and then if it is approved, they issue you a title. Clean and clear. No bonded note.

You can cruise all you want with Antique tags.
