Don't post dollar numbers - it's not a dick measuring contest. But feel free to name the places you donate time and/or money.

Just curious how many people donate and support their community throughout the year. Whether it be cash to a church, items to Goodwill, canned food to foodbanks, or time to volunteer efforts like soup kitchens, mentorship programs, etc.

Choose one option for monetary donations and one option for time commitments. Poll inbound - names/choices will be private.

I donate everything to the Genesis Women's Shelter in Dallas rather than Goodwill...

Matt - I still have about 80 boxes of GS cookies if you're in need....

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Mostly to church, but Christmas for 10 or so CPS kids, and also give to several charities. I wish it was all because of my big heart, but it really helps the tax bill!

We tithe at church, and we support various charities throughout the year, usually as a sponsor for someone in an event (like the diabetes bike ride we do as a family). We do Angel Tree, donations of clothing and other items to the resale store in Frisco, etc.

I give countless hours coaching baseball, and not just my own kids or the others on their teams. I work with a lot of kids at no charge and often pay the facility usage fee myself if there is one. Recently, we've become very active in Keeper of The Game which helps those with disabilities enjoy the baseball experience. My 7 year old's baseball team recently raised over $4200 for them in a hit-a-thon fundraiser. It was awesome. You can learn more about Keeper at www.keeperofthegame.org They work with Miracle League all over DFW.

                            Charity

I have a huge distrust for most charitable organizations, that said I try and donate to families that I can directly help.

My family donates $$ to our church and I volunteer 100+ hours a year to the local youth sports my kids are playing. (Coach, Assistant, etc.) Happy to do both. Church makes me feel good and I love spending time with my kids. Plain and simple.
