We looked at homes before I left and it was going to run us $800k for an equivalent $200-250k home in Dallas. Just made no sense out there. My goal was just to get experience though, I'm glad I was giving the opportunities that I worked hard for.

Had I not gotten the opportunity to come north, I don't know that I'd still be in San Diego for that very same reason. Then again, that same house is still over $400k here, so it's only marginally better.

Moving back to Texas must be like getting a big fat raise, I'm jelly.
