the EB mustang is the middle of the line Mustang
the GTI is the middle of the line Golf

so there, the comparisons are made, equally.

bottom line, Ford is on the crack pipe. They need to be at 25-29k loaded to make their pos car worth while.

A $25k gti looks a shit load better than a $25k mustang.

I got it. My point was a mustang after the rebates, even as a base model, outperforms the Volkswagen in every performance category for real world drivers. I am talking v8 for only a few grand more.

I don't even think you can compare them at a dollar level seeing as how they aren't even in the same class with each other. If you wanted to compare the GTI to someone, the Focus ST would be a more appropriate candidate because they're in the same class.

You're talking about comparing trim levels, others are talking about comparing $$$.
They are both two acceptable ways of comparing vehicles.

I personally prefer the ecoboost mustang, even though I would not get as much for my $ except for things that feed my personal taste. I believe for the dollar value, the GTI would be the better purchase.

I admit the wording was a bit convoluted, but I was saying that comparing a top of the line GTI to a base model mustang is the same as comparing a top of the line mustang to a base model corvette. IMO the top of the line cars will typically look better than the base model of the more upscale car. The mustang being more upscale than the GTI and the corvette being more upscale than the mustang.

And a 50k mustang looks better than a 50k corvette. (IMO) The mustang is a more upscale car in a completely different class, the same with the mustang/corvette comparison. It should be kept apples/apples.
