  • License plate look up, please

We had a suspicious vehicle on our street last week. They darted across an empty lane to pull on to our street. As soon as they hit our street, they started creeping into the cul-de-sac and stopped. I pulled out of the driveway and went that way to see if they were looking for someone. As we headed up the street they immediately pulled into the nearest driveway. As we headed back up the street, they backed out, drove back into the cul-de-sac and into someone's driveway. That neighbor stopped by tonight and asked me about it. He has security cameras and noticed we drove into the cul-de-sac to see what they were up to. They pulled into his driveway and crept up to the front door and lingered.

Just looking for some info to see if I can get an idea of who it was in case I see them around again. We live in a quiet neighborhood and don't typically have people linger around like that.

It was a late 90's Dodge Ram single cab, plate # 35C N59

Why not report this suspicious person(s) to the police? The fact that you and your neighbors are not doing so is a bit odd.

I did. I was on the phone with them as I drove up the street and sat and watched them. They were gone from our neighborhood before anyone responded. They showed up 10-15 minutes later.

Just hoping for a little information. No intention of hunting anyone down or knocking on doors. Just a little social media searching to get an idea of who it was.

Police never get there on time. I would be doing the same thing as you.

That's a bad plate. Looks like you copied it down incorrectly.

Well shit. I will have to check it when I get home. That was given to me by local PD when I called yesterday. I didn't have anything to write it down with so I read it off directly to dispatch. They may have written it down wrong. That upsets me.

Just called local PD again to try and confirm the plate number, I guess during the day time they follow the rules better, they wouldn't give me anything. I am racking my brain to try and remember it. I can see the truck driving away but can't remember the friggin' plate number

I will need to read through that more thoroughly tonight. On quick glance it would appear that I should have 35CN*9, with the * being an alpha. It was definitely not a 7 digit plate, but it was a plate design that was common to passenger cars, I remember it was printed, had the artwork on it, and mentioned to myself it didn't have 7 digits

Maybe the second 5 was actually an S?

That is exactly what I am thinking. Looking at the years they were issued that is the most likely error. The first 5 may have been an S but those plates would be much older. Looking at the plates on that website, I can see how I would have read a S as a 5

Public Data shows no plate for 3SCN59.

35CNS9 is a 2001 Ford from Dumas, TX (probably not it).

Well, thanks for the help! I not sure what happened. Hopefully they don't come back around

Did it have a Mary K or Avon sticker on it? Maybe looking for customers
