I was hoping for ya that it was a printing/mailing issue, not that they haven't even sent that information to the IRS over the year.

Unfortunately not. They also have not asked the IRS for an extension so I will be reporting them. How can a hospital corporation have accounting problems like this?

You can file using your last pay stub of the year, if you know what you're doing.

I don't understand F'ing over your company just because your tax return will be a little late. If they are in fact having issues with their software, you reporting them isn't going to make it any faster.

yeah, but it wont happen next year.

W-2's are required to be filed with the IRS and made available to employees by the end of January. I'm not an expert in the field, but I believe this employer is breaking the law.

The IRS requires employers to file a Form W-2 for each employee. These forms must be sent out to employees by February 1. If employers fail to do so, they could face some costly consequences.

For each W-2 form an employer fails to send out on time, the IRS may slap the employer with a $50 penalty. That's in addition to an employer's potential penalties for improperly filing a W-2, such as providing incorrect information on the form and not reporting the proper Taxpayer Identification Number.

                          1. Not my problem
                          2. I dont work for them anymore
                          3. You think they care about me?

They had the opportunity to do the right thing by getting it out on time. When they noticed they cant, rather than fess up to the IRS and ask for an extension, they didnt. Then they waited until after the deadline to send out apology letters? Apology letters should have gone out as soon as they noticed they wont get them out on time rather than waiting a week past the deadline and hold their employees and former employees in limbo.

He's not f'ing them over, they did it to themselves. But I understand your perspective, from the CEO point of view.

I don't agree with Tim often, but I whole heartedly agree with this. This is probably also a large Corporation given Tim's line of work, rather than the more intimate smaller company that is Blake's corporate setting.

also, it's likely that the software issue is due to a third party IT company.
