All kidding aside, I have seen people at swap meets asking $4-6k for trahed out rollers. Did not say they got it tho

With that much rust on the outside, can't imagine what's, in the fenders, floorpans and trunk.

I'm going to guess that car wore a vinyl top for a period of it's earlier life.

Parting it out would be the way to go. I had one in about the same condition, except it had good fenders and the roof wasn't rusted, but it had a bad patch job over a 70's style sunroof....the quarters, trunk, floors, cowl, etc. were all junk. It did have really decent standard interior with a console tho - was just an X44 6-cylinder car. I parted that car out for a little over $6K. I was shocked at some of the stuff that people bought, stuff like the original date coded horns, wiper motor, certain brackets, headlight parts, grill supports, bumper brackets, and quite a bit of misc stuff that I would have never thought of myself. You start breaking it all down and it adds up fast...wiring harness, subframe, 10-bolt, I did sell the running gear out of that one too...some guy bought the old 6 and powerglide for a rat rod. All of the stuff went pretty fast too.

I had it completely parted and gone within about 2-3 weeks, and then I sold the bare shell with a clear title to some guy for $1500 by itself.

Where is it located? When can I go see it?

Would the options be on the paper under the rear seat? Provided that its not rotted out too. That is one rough bitch, but someone's gonna be looking for some self punishment and buy it I bet

Yeah, the build sheet is what you need to determine everything. They aren't always under the back seat though, sometimes they'll be inside one of the quarters, and there were quite a number that ended up above the gas tank (which hardly ever survived). I found one inside the drivers front kick panel once.

Car show season is coming up. I'd take it to the swap meets at Pate, Goodguys, and LSR.

You missed the BEST meet of the year. The Decatur spring meet is next weekend. The very best of the year IMHO

That was my thought too. After you media blast it it's gonna look like swiss cheese. And who knows how much bondo is under that paint. Major rust around the glass which will cost a buncht to fix. Trunk lid is gone. The roof is sketchy too. What about the floors and trunk pan? How much water got into the interior?

If it were me I'd pass. If you want a rust free 69 I'd find another candidate or maybe buy a new dynacorn body and build one from scratch.

It's crazy how worth it those Dynacorn bodies are, versus paying someone to essentially refab a whole new car where your pile of slag used to be.

I wish I had the means. Sure hope someone saves her though.

Off Topic Question: Why couldn't someone use one of those bodies, buy a frame, and just build their own car? What specs could it not meet that would make it illegal to drive on the street?

The rules about titling it differ from state to state. And except for the truck, very few of those bodies require a frame.

You can but if you price all of the parts out it becomes a $40K car pretty quick with a decent powertrain and paint. Same goes for the mustangs.
