There will be life, of sorts, after bankruptcy. Standard General, a private equity fund said on Thursday it reached a deal to acquire up to 2,400 RadioShack stores and will work with Sprint to create 1,750 store-within-a store concepts nationwide.
Standard General also filed a motion to close RadioShack’s remaining company-owned stores under an agreement with Hilco Merchant Resources. Currently, RadioShack currently has approximately 4,000 company owned stores in the U.S., and over 1,000 dealer franchise stores in 25 countries.Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

They should have gotten into the computer sales and accessories market decades ago. I think its silly for people to think they could survive on just component sales like the occasional resistor or fuse someone needed.
I think they stuck too long to selling their own brands of consumer electronics. TV, VCR, DVD, car stereo etc was never a thing I ever thought about going to RS to shop for.
As for batteries, they have the best deals going. I have found them to be cheaper and better perform than the name brands.

Just not enough things that ones needs to hit up RS. My first PC was a Tandy 1000HX, that was when you could actually talk to someone who had a clue what was going on...etc.
Now when I've needed minor components, the employees know nothing about PCs, electronics or 80% of the items they are selling in-store.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

I will say the one here in Rockwall, the guys there are especially helpful. I called them one day looking for a certain type of cable that was nearly obsolete. I figured I had nothing to lose. The sales guy I talked to knew what I needed and confirmed that they did not carry it, but he offered to give me one he had at home. He made good on his promise too. I made sure I made my next phone purchase from him.
