I did something like that at my last gig.

My "new" boss hated going home, so he would schedule a meeting mid day for that evening. It always pissed me off, but I worked it into my once a week night driver inspection, so no biggie. He sent out a meeting request for a friday night. I had plans, and was a bit pissed off, since I had already done my weekly night inspection. I emailed him that we should at least do a lunch meeting saturday, since most of use already had plans. He declined, and pulled the 'BECAUSE I SAID SO' crap that I dispised.

I showed up with three cases of beer and a couple bottles of wine (for the ladies) and we all started drinking. He was pissed at first, and I thought maybe I was going to get canned ( since I really kinda wanted to anyway) but the owner of the co and the VP decided this was the best thing ever. Then on, his after work meetings always were a booze fest.

Almost always this creates a nice work culture. There is always someone who screws up, but as long as that person is dealt with and the rest left alone - tends to make it fun.
