Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

We have taken roads trips with our boys many times. Best thing is drive at night and let the little one sleep, or leave super early in the morning and have mom in the backseat to entertain, feed, change, etc. Get out and stretch, eat meals helps a lot.Scott Ganow

We've done the overnight trip with kids to Orlando as well. It definitely helps as far as less stops. Other than that, a portable DVD player helps too. The only downside is the next day, I was completely exhausted and needed most of that day just to get some sleep. I can't sleep in a car so taking turns with the wife wasn't really an option as far as allowing me to get some rest.

when they are in diapers its easy. we are potty training now. he told us he had to poop as we were cruising through raytown missouri, and lets just say it made oak cliff look like beverly hills.

We drove with Carpenter up to Illinois when he was 18 months. It went very smoothly. We simply had some videos on a tablet, snacks, and his two favorite games. He loves Endless Reader and Endless Alphabet. Both are great games for the little ones. Our videos were mostly Curious George, Seseme Street, and Chuck the Dumptruck...

As a kid we took trips to Minnesota in the summer time for family reunions. With Mom the only driver it took a solid 24hrs if not longer. We would leave would real early in the morning and Mom would sleep at rest stops on the way. I don't know how we made it without any kind of electronics back then but we did.
The only bad trip up there we had was when my older brother started driving we took 2 cars. With 2 cars full, Mom driving one and older brother driving the other, the older brother following. My older brother dozed off with a car full of sleeping people and Mom couldn't do anything but watch us drift into the median. We all woke up scared shitless, knowing we were lucky.

We had a suburban when we were younger, so my parents put a mattress in the back with pillows and blankets for us and then they rode up front. I think my brother and I played with our GI Joe's all through Oklahoma and Kansas without ever looking out the window once.
