  • Who has purchased a vehicle out of state, sight unseen?

Thinking of doing this for the first time, it's only a few thousand but wondering, who here has done this and how did you facilitate it? Looking for suggestions on how to do this best, thanks.

Shit, Danny and I drove a Jaguar X-Type 8 hours up to Northwestern Kansas and swapped for an old 1977 Mustang. We drove that back on a "turn and burn."

Really, though, fly to the nearest airport and have him bring the vehicle there. If something turns out the way you don't want it, you're already at the airport. If everything works out, drive it home from there.

Bought a Mustang out of Iowa a few years back. Had 'em take it to the local Ford dealer for inspection (at my expense) prior to the deal closing. Had it shipped down to DFW. All went as planned except the Ford dealer missed some rust issues on the core support.

I have sold vehicles to buyers. I have drove out of state when I bought The Rat in New Mexico and that was a nightmare. Got there that morning hoping to see the car that day. Ended up having to wait till the following day. I remember getting there and being so excited and then this guy wasnt answering his phone or anything. It would have been better. But when I did see The Rat for the first time. It didnt run as he said it did. I ended up paying $10k for it and brought it back to Texas and took it straight to SQR and dropped another 6k in it between new Cam and springs n retainers and new Transmisson and converter

I've bought a few cars from out of state. Luckily I've haven't had to put a down payment. The sellers were nice enough to hold it for me to look at it.

Bought an S4 last summer. Was in the Tundra at the time, so I had Blake check it out. When he called, first thing he said was "This is the cleanest 10 year old car I've ever seen" Figured I was ok. That being said, Denny has the right idea. You have any contacts where the vehicle is??

I have several times, bought my 57 belair from Kansas, Tbird from Maine, and my M38a1 military jeep from Vegas. I was very happy with the purchases when I got them. A few small suprises but nothing major. That's looks pretty nice!

Bought a 95 Cobra from ebay in FL. Had a forum member from stangnet check it out somewhat for me. Had it shipped to Louisiana and drove it the rest of the way home. Car/transaction had a few issues, I got lucky could have been worse.

Bought my old Shelby and my '03 Cobra sight unseen off of SVTP and called a transport to pick them up. My brother bought his '02 F-150 Harley truck from a guy in New Hampshire and we got one way tickets there and drove it back.
