If she has any finance background she could work from home as a buyer. Pay is good, but usually they required college degrees.

What type of job is this? My wife used to be a financial analysis and is about 36 credits away from her BS in accounting. She is recovering from a major shoulder surgery but wants to get back to work. We both think it would be better if she got a work from home job.

I have the ability to work from home 100% and have in the past, now I work 3 days a week in the office and 2 from home. I'm an IT Services Delivery Manager. The only reason I don't work from home more is that my wife also works from home full time as a case manager for settlement brokers for a Structured Settlement company. So both of us working from home 5 days a week together doesn't work well

Most of the Dell has gone to work from home in Services and IT, as well as many other IT Outsourcing companies, but there seems to be a common trend starting with HP/EDS to bringing more people back to the office.

I work from home 100% of the time and expect a change this year. There is a trend for Bofa to bring all the workers back. It's odd since I'm sure all that commercial space is more expensive than paying for our internet service at home. Hell I'll pay for the internet service if I can stay home.

We stayed a few days in Austin for free last month.
They kind of phase my department out. They called it customer coordinator. I pretty much handle every type of call expect no commission like reservations and diamond desk get despite handling both.

Productivity numbers aren't adding up at the end of the day. Not saying you or I are those people, but a lot of people take advantage of the work from home model.

Specifically in ITO models, we can't be price competitive with people who work from home and don't crank out a high ticket volume.

I used to manage the Windows Server team for Dell that supports Hilton. Binky on here took over after I moved on.

You're a loan officer, you purchase auto loans. The average salary for a buyer is 60-125k, depending on how good you are. You spend your day looking at credit, buying loans, and rehashing loan structures with dealership finance managers. I know that Nissan (NMAC) is hiring home buyers, and so is Ally (formerly GMAC). Both are local.

Interesting. I'll be sure to show this to my wife.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I was a buyer for about 10 years. It was rewarding, and the pay can be substantial once you get in the groove, and how good your negotiation skills are. You are essentially a professional arguer. There are tons of auto finance companies in the metroplex, about 80% of all auto finance companies are in the DFW area. I work at corporate for GM Financial now, and I do know GMF is hiring buyers, however generally if you have no experience, they will want you in the office for a period to make sure you're ready to go out on your own. Some of the perks working for a captive lender (attached to a manufacturer) is you get pretty killer car deals. I know NMAC essentially gives you a free car of your choice, you pay the insurance. GMF was offering $35k off new Cadillac ELR's, and 20k off new CTS's. So lots of cool benefits.
