here is our conversation though fwiw..

got a new 4x4 super crew f150 5.0 whats some good cheap easy shit or a tune to throw at it?
    January 3rd, 11:19pm

    Headers, exhaust..cold air and tune

    We did a kb 3.6 on a 4x4 one...made 750rw, it was a beast
I'm looking at cold air and tune.. is set legit or is a one off deal better?
    Sct

Custom tune is the only way to go...unless you do a mail order with someone that data logs it and gives you updates

Don't do cold air without tune

    Changes maf flow alot
    Welcome back.

    Thanks for sharing that

Any preferences on tuners for the 3.5? I am in the market for one. We pulled the baffle off the blow off valve on Friday night, it's silly but fun.

The 2015 is a huge change. The cab is significantly larger despite the weight cut. I was also very impressed with the ride of the new 4x4 over my current 4x2. That 2.7EB engine was also impressive. Beyond that are lots of little things that I liked..
Sounds like pretty much the same reason I'm interested in it including the 2.7 EB (exhaust sound not withstanding). I've been watching a lot of YouTube reviews of the 2015 and I'm really impressed with the updates they've done.

Go look at the thread I just posted in the back porch. Our ecoboost engine just blew up on the way home after being replaced for low oil and the motor being chewed up. 55k miles

                stock #'s on the 5.0:
                360 horsepower at 5,500 rpm
                380 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,250 rpm

Anyone want to venture a guess on what headers, cat back, and a tune would yield on a 2011-2014 5.0?

Probably wouldn't do a CAI, just drop in a K&N, unless we're talking a major difference.

                also:
for 2015, the power is supposed to go up some b/c of new headers and a new intake on the 5.0

They look really good dropped, with having mine a week I have to say the truck thinks it is a sports car. Very nimble and quick, similar to the ecoboost 15 mustangs. I am very impressed with the performance, still a little disappointed with the interior and looks of the XLT package of 15 but hope it to improve in the following years. Beats the hell out of any other half ton still IMO.

after reading up on the EB, I directed my efforts there.
Picked up a '13 King Ranch (pearl white color) w/ 3.73 gears, nav, new tires, super clean, no scratches, no dings. $34,500 (44Kmi)
I immediately drove to the coast, got great gas mileage, and when I hooked up my boat, I couldn't tell it was back there. VERY happy.

I rode/drove in a 2014 5.0 F150 supercrew yesterday. I absolutely loved the amount of space in the interior over my 2002 Supercrew. Time to move up towards the end of the summer.

Yeah, I loved my 08 fx4 but my 13 is on a totally different playing field.
