Congrats! We are working on the same thing, I'm trying to stay under 45 miles from my job which is very challenging considering what I want to buy, does everyone make $200k a year now? Seems like it with the price of houses.

We can't wait to have more land. Our house right now is in a very cramped sub. I can spit from my backdoor to the back fence. We bought some land out in Ranger. We thought about building out there, but just decided to buy a camper to put out there and find some land between Azle and weatherford.

Too funny, I feel the exact same way. It's tough.

Congrats man! Where you guys thinking about moving to?

I've been a city boy all my life... 27 years. But I'm sick and tired of all the fucking traffic that we have to deal with. I would LOVE to get some land and build on it. Crystal already has a house that she wants to build on a decent piece of land. My only thing is I would love be move somewhere that's in a decent range of DFW or still in DFW. Problem is... land isn't fuckin cheap here

I know how you feel! When I moved to DFW I bought a house in Arlington on a 1/3 acre. Even though I was at the end of the street and didn't have a neighbor on one side, when I was doing dishes my view was my neighbor's garage. I moved to Sachse (just north of Garland) and I am now on a 1.3 acre lot and love it. Sure, it would be nice to have more land, but I feel it is a great compromise between breathing room and being close to jobs.

We just moved here anyways, so even if she decided the country was a good idea it would not make sense financially. Plus I fucking hate packing and moving and since we just did it I would admittedly not be as excited. She did give me the ok to buy my own land to go play on, but I would rather just pay the house down/off at this point. This is her dream house and she is convinced she will die here in old age.
IMO a little bit of land is always a good investment and nice to have. Then throw one of these on it...

...done. If she kicks you the curb you'll be set.

That's what we did and we love it. We bought 5 acres and built a little single story shack...nice and quiet!

You'd have to get used to me mowing the yard in my tighty-whities and yelling at you whipper snappers to keep the noise down!

I hear you. There's a place Id love to have, but it's way overpriced. Even at what I think (educated guess) it's worth, I still would be stretched pretty thin. Being that I work in Burleson now, and she's going to be either in South Arlington/Mansfield/Kennedale for the foreseeable future, we can look at areas south of town, and land prices are more reasonable than up north.

                              That's awesome!

It took me a while, but I was able to convince my old lady to move to the mountains with me. We're planning to move to Lake City, CO this summer. It's going to be a major lifestyle change, and I'm stoked.

My dream is one day to move far away into the country and just live a slow peaceful life.

This city living eats you up inside. It is a silent killer.
