I've read somewhere that the young deputy had been reprimanded in the days leading up to this incident for using excessive force. This probably had something to do with his hesitation.
But anytime you have someone with combat knowledge and a rifle and all you have is a pistol, it probably won't end well for you unless you get very lucky. The deputy should have emptied his mag into this guy the minute he grabbed the rifle.

I remember seeing this vid a very long time ago. And was hoping and praying this asshole would get put down. Just piss's me off it took so long to Carry out the sentence.

After watching this video my opinion is the same as before it.

1. War veteran, PTSD or not - the punishment fits the crime.
2. It still pisses me off some people do this and worst and get "life" or otherwise released on occasion.

This is one grey area I could see life being issued if he truly did have PTSD. I do not know enough about him/the case, but if it's a good enough punishment for a Vietnam war vet, it's good enough for all the other fuckers who kill people too.

Fuck that war vet, let his ass ride the lightning. That said, unfortunately, that cop got himself murdered. He had opportunity after opportunity to stop the situation. He didn't want to shoot the Vet, the Vet really really wanted to shoot him a bunch of times.

My solution would be simple. He's a soldier, give him a soldier's death. Bullet to the back of the head and release his body to what is left of his family. Justice is served and a nation's debt to him is repaid through a merciful and quick death.

Yes but getting those meds right is tough. They had me on depakote when I first came back and it made me borderline homicidal. I was destroying everything in front of me and had to go live in a field by myself for a few months until I could detox off of it and get my head straight.

I understand it's not the easiest thing to get right, but it is ultimately his or those taking care of him's responsibility.
