  • Anyone with a driveway gate?

Have Randy Bess (bottlefedstang) installing a front fence and gate and now Im stuck with how to get UPS packages. Just wondering what you guys do. I have seen parcel delivery boxes (elephantrunk) that seem a little small. Thinking of just putting in a deck box just outside the gate and bolting it to the fence.

    Any ideas?

I have my butler get them.

I'm sure they can just toss them over without you telling them.

My boss used an old pickup toolbox when he had frequent deliveries at the house. Now he has everything sent to the shop.

My UPS/Fed Ex/USPS carriers all know to drop it on the other side of the fence.

Those gates start to suck eventually. For the first 4 or 5 years theyre good then the sensors need changed, or the remote battery is dead and you dont have a spare, or the gate motor has died, etc etc.

I mean theyre worth having but taking care of them gets old

They tend to either leave mine at the gate or call me. I also have been known to track it online and meet them at the gate.

Also it helps to know your fedex/ups guys, to let them know what you're doing/wanting.

How can you track something online with UPS/FedEx other than it's "out for delivery"?
