  • Recommendations for eye glasses

I figured some of you 4-eyed fools would have some good recommendations. I wear contacts most of the time, but now that I'm an old fuck I need glasses when I'm not wearing my contacts. My current frames are getting pretty old, and of course my prescription changed on my last visit as well. So time for a new setup.

There is a decent place attached to my Eye Doc's office, but they seem a little pricey and my insurance is mostly used up on the contacts...wondering if any of those places like eyeglasses.com are worth a try? I got my last set of glasses at Target optical, they've lasted a long time, but I recall they were a pain to deal with on the partial insurance coverage, took forever for them to come in, and they also screwed up one of my lenses.

Anyways...anyone have any good recommendations - if local, on the FT. Worth side of town or up near Denton would be nice.

    TIA

Zenni is dirt cheap compared to any store you'll visit. The frames usually have 100% markup but lenses are more like 300%!

Just get all the measurements and what not from your Dr and buy your glasses online. I have a pair or two from coastal contacts and they were 25% of what lens crafters was for my first set. They are all Oakley glasses.

Can I use my flex account when buying elsewhere, say online maybe? Also can I use my flex for prescription sunglasses?

Went with my girl to get her some glasses yesterday, people there must have mentioned Tom Ford about 20 times. They cost about $500...

Good to know, thanks. Did you have to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed or were you able to use your flex card?

Picked up a two pair of oakleys @ Costco. Clear and a set of sunglasses. Was about half what other retail places wanted.

When i found out i needed glasses, i went ahead and got them at my GF's uncle's business (where i found out my eye sight was bad) They are Oakley's REVOs i believe. They should have been $900, but i got them for $450 (family discount). I also got everything you can get for the lense, scratch, glare, transition, etc.

I am wanting to get laser eye surgery. I hate glasses!!! I have astigmatism though.
