Im just fucking with you. I dont really give half a fuck about what the internet hivemind says on most things. Ive had good luck with things that are so horrible that they shouldnt have ever been produced, according the the interenets. Like Taurus pistols.

Buy a cheap 4wd for the farm.

It isn't a factor of knowing the limits of my truck. There also is no real need for 4wd. I've got 4wd 4 wheelers to get around property on.

The road I got stuck on is a 2 mile dirt road, that is maintained monthly by the County. Sure, a 4wd would help while on the property. But it does me absolutely no good when I can't get TO the property. I can't just leave a truck parked at the Kwik Stop for a month at a time, use it for 3-4 days, then take it back up to Kwik Stop to sit until my next trip up.

I'd look into an Eaton electronic locking diff before running around on some loud ass mud grip tires that will wear out in 30K miles. FWIW I have had a couple of sets of Firestone Transforce on work trucks and they have all lasted aound 70K and rode great.

You got stuck with bald ass tires not me. I am a farmer in Kansas and i cant think of the last time i engaged 4wd in my junk. My theory is if i cant get there in 2wd i prob shouldnt be there, Or ill need a tractor or 4 wheeler anyway. Just part of the job.

Get something with more than 2/32 tread depth and youll be fine.

I'll look at those. Would prefer not to mess with the warranty on the locker. Not yet at least, but definitely an option in the future.

Jesus Christ you're dense this morning. Need some coffee? You don't normally come off this... slow. I've got 4 wheelers. I've got a tractor. They don't do me any good sitting in the barn when I can't get from the highway to my house. It's not a case of "I didn't need to be there". They also aren't THAT bald, I said near the end of their life.
