71 Dart... my original car was a yellow white top and black interior. Back in 2004 I started looking for another. Bought one that was the same except red exterior. We deleted the white top, added the rear stripe and factory hood scoops.

In 1981 when my dad started looking to replace the doodoo brown 73 Torino Brougham family truckster he was looking at the Cutlass and Regal and I was just starting to get into cars. I begged him to get the 82 Regal Sport Coupe Turbo...but he instead chose a white 82 V6 Regal 2dr coupe for my mom.
In 1987 as I entered high school..the Grand National and T-Type's were feared street killers that covered all car magazine covers of the day and I wanted one. Instead my dad found that 79 Monte Carlo used with a blown motor and picked it up cheap. He fixed the motor and I drove it. It was slow. It drank gas. The AC didn't work. In 89' the original V6 died in the Regal so my dad bought my mother a new loaded 89 Le Sabre...put a rebuilt motor in the the Regal and gave me the choice of selling the Monte to cover the cost of the engine in the Regal (much nicer car), or keep the Monte. I chose the Regal and that started my Buick Regal illness and G body illness.
Counting the 79 Monte Carlo I've owned 5 now.

110 hp 2bbl 3spd turd...but it was nice.

180hp 4bbl turbo 4spd....fully loaded. It ran decent...but was plagued with issues.

Bought this as it sits in pic...for the engine...to convert the 85 GN to the 87 intercooled drivetrain. Best upgrade ever made to my GN. Parted it out for MUCH more than I paid even after the swap.

82 Regal, 4.1 v6 and factory 4 barrel, stepmom gave it to me in 93 when I was 13. It was green, had dead paint, and was pretty well worn out. I wrecked it my senior year of high school, took the street rod and custom class at Grayson county college in the early 2000's and did the body repair. This is how it pretty well sits now.

When we moved back to the US, a 91 Eagle Premier was the car my dad bought... Biggest piece of shit ever made is an understatement. It had a bunch of electrical problems that the mechanics couldn't figure out.4 years in, the transmission went out and was going to cost close to $3000 to replace. The car in good condition was only valued at $1500. I think he got $900 trade in because they could drive across the auction block in 1st gear.

I'm pretty sure all of those cars are off the road now, I can't say I've seen one on the road in 10 years or more.

Yeah I sold mine to a mechanic for $1200 with a new transmission. Car looked ok for its year but had tranny problems since day one! I fixed the tranny then it had a drain hole where oil would just leak out for no reason...wierd shitty car
