Need help for a dying student's family (FOOD)

Hi guys. I have a favor to ask. We have another student (in 8th grade) who has been given 2 weeks to live. Mom is barely treading water financially and doesn't even know how she is going to pay for the funeral for her own son. I'm just heartbroken.. They have an immediate need for food. They live next to Fiesta and close to a Walmart. They live near Sam Houston high school.

I guess my question is if anyone has any gift cards to either of those places or have any shelf stable food they may want to donate to them? We are busy trying to get resources for the funeral, we have had a local mortgage company pay 4 months of her house payment and her ex husband is paying her car payment this month. She will just need food.

If you have anything you would like to give, please let me know. I'm at my office in Arlington all day today if you'd like to bring something by.

Leah, one of Marisa's coworkers was recently diagnosed with cancer, and another seriously injured in a car wreck. The ladies up here all got together and set up a schedule where they deliver meals to a cooler on the front porch of the family. It has worked out really well and prevents them from being inundated with guests, or a plethora of food that can spoil. May be worth looking into.
