Most epic is the day my kiddos were born.
One moment that comes up often in my mind and reminds me how trivial a lot of shit is...one day in Iraq (as a Civilian)...1 a rocket hit near the shitter I was going to use and 2 I was still close to it, but that basic training stuff paid off. Lot of shrapnel holes all over the place, but not in me. After my ears quit ringing I smoked about 20 cigarettes and was glad to be alive. All other explosions and such after that seem minor, even a car bomb once...
I'd imagine the troops get used to it as even i did. However, that one was a REALLY close call for me. There was an AF guy in the shitter I was GOING to use - he used his noodle and broke the seat hitting the deck. Saved his life too since a concrete barrier blocked everything low. There were about 5 or so holes where his head would've/could've been otherwise.Originally posted by MR EDDU defend him who use's racial slurs like hes drinking water.

I would have to say getting married, and the day I got my fish (submarine warfare qualification pin) would be at the top of my list.04 2.6 KB'd Cobra!

I know it'd be hard to deal with, but better for you to take theirs and you still be here, than the other way around.04 2.6 KB'd Cobra!

I have quite a few. The day I met my wife, wedding day, kids births, the day I got the call that my best friend was killed in Iraq, the day I called my dad while he was in Singapore to tell him my grandfather died, burying my dad's new explorer in 3' of mud with aforementioned best friend on federal wetlands, selling my house in a period of financial struggle and many others. I remember a lot from the time I was little until now that have shaped the path I'm on.
