  • Anyone here have access to a large cnc mill or router?

Anyone here have access to a cnc mill or router and want to make a few bucks? I have 2 parts that I need to make both identical. The material is .5" thick 6061 T6 aluminum. I need a very simple design cut out and about 50 holes made in the part. The rough dimensions of the part are 8" x 60" I can send a drawing if you think you can do it. I will provide all material and tooling. I can pay as well of course.

Man if it wasn't 60" or if it was plastic, composite or wood I could help ya out.

Is it a complex shape, or could someone with a standard mill take care of it?

Tech shop cant handle it, apparently they are nazis about what goes on their router. Its not complicated, its just large. I have access to plenty of machines but none of them can handle work this size.

I might be able to help. Send me a drawing. We have a cnc mill at the shop now.

He has already done some work for me earlier this year (last year) and I still could not be happier with it. I will not hesitate for a second to use him again if he can tackle this job.

Call Plasti-Fab on Monday and ask for Steve.817-577-2003
They have CNC routers that can take care of that job no problem. It will help if you have the drawings ready in pdf or ai format. Top notch work, quick turn, & good pricing. I source large volumes of work here regularly.

Will check into it for sure. Not sure about having the drawing in PDF format though.... I have it in regular drafting format now (.dwg) I think I can export it into a .pdf but there will be no way to check dimensions on it at that point....

He can likely use that format or convert to what he needs. A pdf will show the overall dimensions when you move the cursor to the lower left corner. We normally use ai files as those are used by our routers / laser for cutting.
