UPDATE 10:55 p.m.: Officials said an AirAsia plane with 162 people aboard lost contact with ground control on Sunday after takeoff from Indonesia on the way to Singapore, the Associated Press reported.

      More from the AP:

The plane lost communication with Indonesia’s Surabaya airport 42 minutes after takeoff at 5:35 a.m., Hadi Mustofa, an official of the transportation ministry told Indonesia’s MetroTV.

It had seven crew and 155 passengers.

Mustofa said that the plane lost contact when it was believed to be over the Java Sea between Kalimantan and Java islands.

An AirAsia Airbus 320 has gone missing on a flight from Indonesia to Singapore, ABC News reported, citing the National Agency Search and Rescue Republic of Indonesia.

There are 162 on board, the Associated Press reported.

This is breaking news; updates will be added.

They are saying the plane has been found and so have bodies. At least the families get some closure. http://www.cnn.com/2014/12/30/world/...html?hpt=hp_t1
