  • replacement screen for a 4S?

So.. since my daughter just received yet another new iphone for Christmas, looks like I might be in line for her old hand me down 4S.

The screen is cracked and will need replacement... I'm not really comfortable doing it myself so I thought I'd ask for some advice.

Who do we use locally for cell phone repairs and what should I expect to pay to
get this one back in good condition?

    Thx & Merry Christmas

$70 and he will do it for you in about 20 minutes. I've used him a few times and sent many people to him. Right on the corner of Preston and Forest in the bank tower next to Becks Prime. I'm sure there are cheaper, but typically between $50-70 for a screen replacement.

Man, don't sink money into a 4S. Time too look at a 5S or six. Not that expensive depending on carrier/contract, and it's worth it.

Agreed, we used him a couple months ago.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy 1 (3G) from 2009 (which was also a Hand me down phone). The 4S would be a pretty good upgrade I would think.

I guess that's my deal... hand me down phones.

As useful a tool as a smart phone can be, it doesn't make sense to me to slum it with crappy old tech. In this case, newer is almost always better. I spent years getting last years model and holding onto it too long. This was the first time I upgraded to the latest and greatest (6 plus), and it's been a game changer for me. I'm getting a lot more done now.

It's an iPhone. The 4s can do nearly everything a 6 can do.

A 5 should be free, if he has an upgrade. Another thing to consider is, Apple doesn't support the majority of its older mobile stuff, so usability goes down as software updates are released. I have a first generation iPad, and it's a pain in the dick to use.

Yes it can, only slower with a smaller screen.

The 4s is still supported. The 4/4s is imo the best iPhone Apple ever made and I own a 6 plus. I use my old 4s now as a baby monitor.
