  • used super duty 4x4 parts value (wheels and lift)?

In the process of buying a used super duty. The truck is on 20s with Pro Comp Xtreme A/Ts with a 6" inch Pro Comp lift. I got a pretty good deal on the truck but don't really care about the lift and the tires will just kill mileage.

The tires have about 50% tread left and the wheels are spotless. I don't know much about lifts but from what I can tell Pro Comp sells a few 6inch SD lifts, but I dunno which one it is. It has dual steering stabilizers and dual front shocks. The lift is all spring with no blocks.

What do you diesel and 4x4 gurus think the wheels and lift are worth?

Don't have the truck yet but I came to an arrangement with the guy and signed a hand written thing so it should be mine monday. I can post pics when I get it just looking for some input.

    TIA

Lift 500-800 maybe, if someone gives you their stock stuff
Wheels/tires 800-1000, depending on the wheels

Youd probably get the most from selling on a forum, but itll take longer more than likely, quick sell on craigslist, but for less money...

Wheel and tires just dont sell for much if they arent too common a size sometimes, you might get a little more just kind of depends on finding the right buyer, alot of people low ball the shit out of you, like on here
If you find the right buyer youll get decent money, but sometimes it takes time.

Just put the wheels/tires up for 1200-1400, see what happens, you can always go down, cant go up

I picked up my 18x10 pro comp wheels and 35x12 pro comp xtreme tires on Craigslist a while back for 600, the guy was asking 700 but I told him I had cash in hand and would buy em on the spot,, so I guess $ is king!

Doesn't matter how much the wheels and tires are seperate when bought new at retail. They're used and you may sit on them for a while if you ask what "you" think they're worth. Which you may be willing to do.
Limited market and a lot of people are thinking the same way you are as far as mpg's.

When I bought my 20" Gunner 8's the guy was asking $550 and told me the same thing about how much "he" thought they were worth and what he said he could get for them. I offered $425 cause the tires were half worn out and uneven, plus I wouldn't of been able to use the tires anyway. He said the rims alone cost $250 each or something, I looked and discount was selling them for $160 each. At one point they were going for what he said they were but had come down since.
He said No he had 2 other people coming to look at them and he wouldn't take less. I told him I can run to the bank and it was a for sure sale, he said no and that he had things to do. Also he assured me the guy coming up from Austin or somewhere was almost 100% pos. he was buying them.

I said ok, I understand and keep my #.
Next day he called and said he would gladly take my offer. I didn't lowball him, I offered what I was willing to pay and what my budget was. IMO there is always more sellers than buyers and the stuff is only worth what someone will pay. I know this when selling my stuff as well, I was asking $350 for my stock Lariat wheels w/ excellent tread on the tires, guy offered $325 and when he got there he asked if i would take $300. He needed them and I didn't want them in the garage anymore so I let them go.

Also bought a 4 month old $1,200 DJM 3/5 Lowering kit for $425. Guy bought the kit, installed it and his co. he worked for offered him an allowance if he used his truck for work, so he jumped on it.

thanks for the input! I was hoping they would be worth about half their new cost and get like 1200ish outta them but for 500 bucks its almost better to just keep the wheels till the tires are bald.

Which has more affect on MPG, 33 inch pro comps A/Ts or a 6inch lift?

ok. but they are a very aggressive tread. wouldn't going to a different tire get me a few MPGs? will ditching the lift get me a few too?

Yes if you return the truck to stock height and stock wheels and tires, then that will get you better mpg.

right, but what will have more affect the tires or lift? or a better question, how much affect does each have individually?
