Unless you are planning to buy one the second they start hitting lots, sticker price isn't a true indicator....it's not uncommon to see F150's advertised around ~$10K off, and I'm sure that trend will continue once these new trucks are filling parking spaces. For comparison, I bought my 13' at the end of that year for $39.7K...it had a sticker just over $52K. No special treatment on that one either....it was on the internet at that price.
It's funny how everyone is immediately going right to the price of the Platinum for comparison, so that they can bitch about the price...the hardest loaded, most expensively equipped truck that they offer....and the one that is least often sold, at least in 1/2 ton platform.
In the past several years, majority sales have been XLT and FX series trucks...Followed by the Lariats. Old men and those that need a little more bling in their lives tend to like the Lariats, and where 1/2 tons are concerned...well....you just don't see that many Platinums on the road.
The reason you see so many Platinum series 250's on the road is b/c of the tax incentives for small business owners...we are in another year where business owners can write-off the entire cost of a 3/4 ton or larger truck for their business....naturally a lot of those guys are going for the most expensive one.70' Chevelle RagTop

<-- drives a Lariat and not the "old man" catagory... I just couldn't see the extra $10k for a sunroof and backup camera.

I don't know where it was, but I read somewhere that they sell something like 12 XLTs to every 1 Platinum. Of course XLT is the most common commercial package too.70' Chevelle RagTop

BTW, the new F150 is actually wider than the outgoing model...
