Plus, being young, single, and not otherwise tied down, you have more opportunity to move around the country / world, and a pet just complicates that. Having a dog, especially a big one, is pretty close to having a kid. I see far too many younger people trying to give away dogs because something has come up that was more important to them.
In the mean-time, if you need a dog fix, volunteer at the animal shelter.
And please note, I am not saying that there aren't plenty of younger dog owners that make it work, but why add the complication and limit your flexibility so early in your life.

Yeah, I'm gonna wait. I either want a pit or a mastiff. One isn't allowed and the other is just too damn big.
It might be a little different if Jeremy's dog didn't have so many problems, she's likely not to get along with another dog. Matts5.0 what the hell did you do to her? It's a male and has not been neutered.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Just come to my neighborhood. There's dogs running around everyday. Two weeks ago I opened my garage door to a little brown mutt chilling underneath my truck. The kids saw her. We fed her and posted her on a local Facebook page.
She ain't left since.
