Awesome places/things to do in Texas

How long since you've been? I go camping up there a few times a year, and the past two years, all of the lakes and ponds have been really low, and most of the creeks weren't running at all. I used to have pretty good luck out there, but not lately. Haven't been since February or March, though. Plan on going soon. I go for the camping, mainly, and don't fish much anymore.

Has anyone checked out the Caddo Grasslands?

It has probably been 4 years, that sucks it was a cool place to go and had some decent sized bass. If Purtis Creek State Park still has water that was a great place to camp and fish too that wasn't far from DFW.

Oktoberfest in Fredricksburg is a hoot.

Tour the USS Texas which is parked in the Houston ship channel near the San Jacinto Battleground Monument.

I'm pretty sure I had a concussion from bashing my head on that ship. Yes worth a visit but not when it's 85+ degrees out, you'll die.
