I should clarify, that 600 a month is for my family and I. My work pays for employee 100%, but it was about 1200 a month for family last year. It was cheaper using the market, but the coverage was horrible. Only useful if a serious injury/etc were involved. Even then one would probably end up in bankruptcy.

Even with your whole family covered that's a lot of bread. You must make CHOO choo money just to be able to send them to the doctor if they need it.

So far our insurance provided by my company is good; we just renewed our policies for 2015 and thankfully costs did not go up much. Over the last few years our coverage has seemed to improve, though is not guaranteed I am sure. I am guessing either we luckily had plans that met the obamacare criteria, or had an HR department that was on the ball at getting things set up so we didn't know/feel it yet. We have healthsmart. Not the best coverage but not the worst either, especially getting online and reading the horrkr stories from a lot of other people. My company also has a pretty badass deal through a major hospital in OKC; go up there for any surgery that hospital performs and it is covered 100%. Have not needed to use it but it is nice to know it is available.

But you can get healthcare at Walmart and CVS now. Seriously, they have clinics in some stores now.

Obamacare can go to hell, and we are all experiencing the high deductible no coverage until it is met BS. I really love the penalties I have been hit with for covering the spouse since she is able to carry her own insurance at work. $100 a month charge for that one. Still cheaper than her getting her employer sponsored insurance though.

We are getting trained well, cause clearly it is NOT a tax or other bad scheme to milk money from the public. It's just a penalty for something you don't want.

My wife went to renew the coverage on her and my daughter a couple weeks ago, and the plans have completely changed. The cheapest plan was almost twice what she was previously paying with higher deductible and more copay. We just said fuck it we will deal with the penalty.

the penalty = 2% of your taxable income?

My work offers Aetna and Scott and White for us and I've been with Aetna. Aetna went up $20 a check and the guys with Scott and White went from $150 to $260 a check which baffles me. Insurance is a necessary evil since I have two hypochondriacs... I mean females in the house.

2% next year, 1% for this year.

Funny part is they'll keep it up until we need help with money or more help with money and there won't be none.

But hey, didn't you know that republicans are better than democrats, and if you vote libertarian or independent you're throwing your vote away?

I'm sure the two party system is just about to fix this country any day now though.
