Anyone have a Sam's card and think it's worth it?

Costco takes Discover and Master. I get annoyed in there because I can't use my Visa in there every time I'm there

Same thing at Sam's, can't use Visa CC but can use it as debit. Not a big deal to me.

I use Sams as it is close to me and we get our moneys worth out of the membership. We purchase stuff they put on sale, coffee, beer, and maybe a few other things consistently.

Sam's takes Discover, only because they own it. Vested interest. Otherwise, debit or cash only.

I saw the documentary on Costco, it was really very interesting.

The CEO (I believe now retired) was the founder. He visited each and every store every year. Flew an un-godly amount of miles on his personal jet to make sure standards are met and employees are taken care of.

Their Kirkland brand goes through probably more quality control/testing than a lot of name brands. They are also the largest wine retailer in the world.

Every product in their store is marked up no more than 15%. It was noted that they break even on everything they sell. All of the profit is from memberships.

I can't knock the Kirkland brand. Their quality is top notch. It has to match or exceed the "name brand" it is matching before it gets "Kirkland" on it.


That said, all I have near me is Sam's. We buy TP, Paper towels, EVO, Mayo, cheese in bulk mainly from there. Some impulse buys and other things, but that's our main staples. And gas. Sam's has the cheapest gas in town nearly all the time.

Tried both and we've been with Costco now for 10+ years. Better than Sams on several different levels.

I worked at the Southlake Costco and it is full of rich milfs. Costco members on a whole are 100k/yr college grads.

Go in a target in any well off area. Same peeps. Most of the people in southlake/grapevine are pretty easy going nice to deal with folk. Take the same pay scale in n Dallas, Plano, frisco and those people are dicks
