Costco is very much a mid to upper scale warehouse store. There is shit in that store even dfwmustangs ballers may have trouble getting the scratch for.

    Ok, maybe not that upscale.

I only use my visa credit card for my business purchases. I went there to buy 6 cases of 15w-40. Stood through the line for 30mins then customer service to renew my membership. Go to pay and find out. Drove over to Costco and the same bs.

It's not worth it to me. It may be worth it depending on the size of your family and what you usually buy. There are deals on some items, but they rarely have the things I really want. Sooo.... in order to save money, I usually get things I wouldn't have gotten anyway.

To illustrate: they have Pace picante sauce in big containers that is less $/oz than the supermarket, but only in 'medium'. If you want 'hot' -tough. I still end up going to the supermarket after a trip to Sam's anyway to get the things they don't have, and more often I skip Sam's because I know I'll have to take twice as much time & travel to do my shopping because I will still need to go to Albertson's afterward.

The final straw was when I was standing next to my car at their gas pump and saw that the QT across the street had gas for the same price. :-l

The baby chow is a good price, but baby is very close to being able to eat regular food; after that, the Sam's membership will not be renewed.

                    As always, YMMV.

Why would you not call Vizio a name-brand product? They've now been around for over a decade, and aside from the manufacturing, are an American-based company who doesn't outsource support.

I saw the documentary on Costco, it was really very interesting.

The CEO (I believe now retired) was the founder. He visited each and every store every year. Flew an un-godly amount of miles on his personal jet to make sure standards are met and employees are taken care of.

Their Kirkland brand goes through probably more quality control/testing than a lot of name brands. They are also the largest wine retailer in the world.

Every product in their store is marked up no more than 15%. It was noted that they break even on everything they sell. All of the profit is from memberships.

I worked at the Southlake Costco and it is full of rich milfs. Costco members on a whole are 100k/yr college grads.
