I had a Yachtmaster and also got a very well-built replica of the exact same thing. I wore the fake most of the time and the real one on special occasions like going out, church, holidays, etc. The only time someone tried to call BS on it, I was wearing the real one. LOL!

Not always. Yes, there are plenty of decent watches out there. Hamilton, Tissot, U Boat, etc., and I like those as well, and someday maybe I'll own a couple.

Obviously there are tons of opinions on this topic and here is mine. I have several cheap Invictas, a really nice Bulova, and a really nice Panerai replica. A real Panerai is roughly $12,000. There is no chance in hell that I'd ever spend that much money on a watch, but I love the way they look. I don't even care that it keeps time or not, they are just beautiful to look at. I paid something like $250 for a decent replica of a watch that looks really good and when asked about it, which happens very rarely, I always tell the person asking that it's a replica, I'm not try8ng to impress anyone. Now that person's opinion of me may change after that is said, but I don't really care what those people think. At the end of the day it's still a good looking watch and I saved $11,750 to have it and I carry a cell phone to let me know what time it is.

Call me a poser or whatever but I wear what I want and fuck anyone that doesn't like it.

I remember seeing a quote somewhere that said something to the effect of: more people are going to think a real Rolex is a fake before assuming a fake Rolex is real. I just particularly like the way a Rolex looks other than the white Explorer.

    So why bother?

I agree there is a limit though, I'm not opposed to spending money on something nice, but within reason. I won't spend the money on a rolex or hublot or any of those watches that run multiple to tens of thousands of dollars, but a nice watch in the $1,000 to $1,500 range, I don't see an issue with if you have the money. I would say for a nice watch, $2k would be my absolute MAX if I really wanted it and had the EXTRA money to spend...
I always thought 1-2K on a watch was a lot of money...guess I'm not baller enough for the DFWM jewelry crowd.

I love watches, I have a couple nice watches, and I have a gshock rangeman. I wear the rangeman 95% of the time, and think about selling the other two all the time. To me, I can find other shit to spend my money on, like whores

There are some great looking watches under $1,000. Hell, I've got two I'd be willing to sell, and they are not fake.

A Maurice LaCroix and a Lucien Piccard. Both are gorgeous watches, I just don't wear them anymore unfortunately and they are collecting dust. Let me know if you're interested.

I can't justify a high dollar watch either, so I bought what I consider nice watches that are all under $1k and aren't fake pieces of shit.
