I will say that I have NEVER had anyone say a word to me when I was wearing a Rolex. I do get compliments on my other watches all the time.

Agreed, I've owned a few replicas, but I've never claimed they were authentic to anyone who asked.

I have a Rolex sitting in a safety deposit box that I won't wear (it's a 30-40k dollar watch), I have an old Tag that needs the internals replaced, and I've had a handful of other "high end" watches. If I scratch or break a Folex, I don't care, or feel near as bad as when I'd scratch/ding one of my nice watches.

My girlfriend got me a WeWood watch a couple of years ago. Seriously, a $50 watch made out of wood, and you would not believe how much attention that stupid thing draws and how many compliments it gets. People love it. At least that's what they tell me lmao.

If you don't want to spend the bread on the real thing don't play baller with a fake one. Like many others have said, buy something similar in style at a price you want to spend. You can get a Tag for what you would spend on a replica Breitling. Hell for a little more you can get a quartz Breitling.

Nice watches can be an investment if you buy smart. Probably one of the only hobbies you can MAKE money at. I started with a cheap $2100 Air King and flipped my way up to a $12000 Daytona.

But you could eat less expensive food...

I'm not big on jewelry, but I can appreciate the craftsmanship and precision in a high end watch. Same way I can appreciate an F1 car despite the fact that I'll never own one.

Men drooling over cars is weird to a lot of people.

Ya, it was a good investment for me. I bought a real one and was always afraid to wear it. I'm always ending up helping someone with their house or car. If I knew I was going to stay clean and not get stuck doing too much with my hands, then I'd wear the real one. It wasn't anything extravagant, just a black-faced stainless Yachtmaster.
