  • Gear fit, Fit bit???

My wife is wanting something along these lines for Christmas. I have done a little research on them, but still not sure. Does anybody here have any experience with any of these things or opinion on them?

My wife has had the fit bit for about a year. She wants another for xmas.

The battery charger can be a bitch. She has me clean the contacts from time to time. Hers is the 99.00 one.
she has had garmans in the past as well as body bug or some crap. I think she has liked the fit bit the best.

They were running a good sale on the Fitbit at Costco the last time I was over there...like $149 for 2 of them iirc.

I have been using a fitbit for a few weeks, aside from the software forgetting to sync itself with within gas (scale) from time to time, I like it.

Fitbit customer services are outstanding. My wife had some issues with hers and she called them and they sent her a brand new unit twice. The problem ended up being something with her phone. So now we have 3 for the price of one. We called them and offered to send them back and they told us to keep em.

the new ones with the good stuff don't come out until after christmas. My wife wants the surge HR (does heart rate) so its her present but we can't get it until after christmas. theres also one above that that does gps if shes a runner it tracks your time and course. My wife just wanted the Heart rate so I'm getting out with the cheaper one (150ish I think)

                  google fitbit surge HR

I have a Fitbit and have had it for about a year now. I have the one that actually shows time and not just counts steps. The sleep monitor is cool, and the app is great (when it remembers to sync). You can log your food and everything in it to truly have a feel for your fitness. Perhaps the best thing about it though is the silent alarm. I wear mine 24 hours a day, and it has a vibrating alarm that won't wake up someone else beside you. I think it's the best feature of it personally.

Which model of fitbit do you have? I've been wanting one that I could use as a watch too.

What's the vibrating alarm for? Like if your heart rate drops low or gets too high or something??? Or an alarm like an alarm clock, so you wake up at X:00 in the morning?

I have the Charge. The only flaw I have with the watch function is you have to either press the button or tap the face twice to see the time. I guess it runs the battery down too much to show it all the time. It's a non-issue though.

Sorry, like an alarm clock. You set it using the app and then it goes off like a regular alarm clock would. Mine goes off at 6am. Mon-Saturday, and I never have to change it. When I travel to a different time zone, it updates when my phone syncs. I will sometimes set other alarms to remind me to do something throughout the day, but I primarily use that function to wake me in the morning. It's awesome for that.

I think Dicks and SA have the one I have for $100 or something like that now after a $25 gift card you get from purchase ($125 purchase and you get a $25 gift card). Target or somewhere had them simply for $90-$100.

The alarm is for reminders or waking you up at a specific time.

I have a Fitbit One. I use it to track my activity and steps, obviously, but my wife got it for me because she didn't believe how much running around I do as an on-site IT tech. The first day I wore it, I came home with 15000 steps.
